    The Origin of 92 RPM

    The name 92 RPM blends national identity with musical heritage. The number 92 acts as the international dialing code for Pakistan, which grounds our project in our cultural roots.


    We borrow the term RPM from the golden era of vinyl records. Those records relied on specific speeds to deliver warmth and texture.


    Our music connects with speakers of Urdu and Hindi by introducing classical poetry to modern ears. While we use current production techniques, our tracks retain the soulful feel of a classic vinyl record.


    92 RPM turns the dial back to history as we move forward with a new sound. We spin the stories of our ancestors for the modern listener.

    A star is born.

    My mind has been haunted by poetry, and lyrics, all my life. But I never had a way of rendering them into real music, because I am completely incapable of producing music.

    So, machine generated music, has given me an opportunity of expression, that I had only dreamed of.

    I am choosing to call this “machine generated” and not “artificial intelligence.

    Each and every thought, word, and expression, in these songs is mine – except of course when The 92 RPM is rendering a poem written by another great poet. Yes – I have categorized myself as one of the great poets.
